What is CFC Singles For Christ?

Singles For Christ Hong Kong MenCountless professional single men and women are burdened by the demands of society to be successful in their respective fields. SFC was established in 1993 as part of the family ministries of Couples For Christ (CFC) for the benefit of these same individuals (ages 21 to 40) so they'd have a channel through which they could respond to God's call and acknowledge that only He can lessen that burden and make them live peaceful and fulfilling lives. In this community, members are guided accordingly by both elders and peers in their decisions and actions (and have fun too!). In time, through perseverance and prayer, a person can achieve financial, emotional and spiritual success. It is also worth noting that quite a number of members have found their lifetime partners (a.k.a. God's Gift or GG for short) in SFC, while some others invite their "loves" to join, thereby forging a stronger, God-Centered relationship.

CFC Singles for Christ aims to provide a Christian support environment for single men and women who are at the crossroads of their state of life, choosing between marriage, a religious vocation, or single blessedness.

SFC is now established in 76 provinces of the Philippines and in 50 key cities and states of 65 other countries around the world.

Singles for Christ as a support environment:

  1. teaches the individual the right values to build their future on.
  2. surrounds the individual with friends who are well meaning and have a positive influence.
  3. provides the individual with opportunities to meet potential partners in life who believe in the same Christian goals and values.
  4. involves the individual in service that prepares them for the responsibility of marriage and family life.
  5. help those with a vocation for the priesthood or religious life to discern their calling.
Singles For Christ Hong Kong WomenAs an adult ministry of Couples for Christ, it also teaches our single men and women to make mature and convicted Christian decisions about critical areas of life that the world has irresponsibly managed and caused many to lead miserable and wayward lives. Our pastoral teachings guide our SFCs in dealing with: commercialism and materialism; casual selfish sex; success pursued through unrighteousness means; exploitation to workaholism; unwanted pregnancies and abortion; self-indulgence with smoking, alcohol, drugs, x-rated movies and gambling; power and ego-tripping; and self-centeredness.

SFC uses a three-pronged evangelization approach: Attraction, Retention, and Transition. Attraction establishes creative ways bringing single men and women to community. Retention keeps members actively involved through community life experience and innovative formation. Transition involves the proper transition of youth to singles and singles to couples.

Pastoral guidance is extended to SFC members following CFC's vast network of household (a cell group of 10 to 12 members) led by a household head. Further, unit heads lead household heads, chapter heads lead unit heads, and cluster heads lead chapter heads. Over-all direction is provided by a national council.
