EARLIER this year, a highly contagious and potentially deadly form of pneumonia has struck Hong Kong and other parts of the world. The disease, more popularly known as SARS has claimed almost 300 lives from among more than 1,700 cases locally.

The effect of such outbreak is estimated to cost more than $10 billion in Asian economies due to loss of potential revenues in key industries such as travel and tourism, manufacturing, retail, among others.

This will likely result to a rise in unemployment and social instability. Even our regular activities in CFC Singles For Christ Hong Kong has been affected. As a precautionary measure, household meetings, Christian Life Program seminars, assemblies and teachings have been suspended.

But at the end of the tunnel there is light. And in there we are thankful that we have survived an ordeal with the Lord guiding us through.

As a fitting tribute to this triumph, we celebrate GLOBAL ONE 2003.
